Worker Mate ("the App," "we," "us") is a labour attendance and wage management app connecting contractors and workers. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's handled.

## Information We Collect

- **Phone number** — used as your login identity for account creation and sign-in. No email is collected.

- **Name and role** (worker or contractor) — provided during signup.

- **UPI ID** (optional) — provided by workers who wish to receive payments directly from contractors. Used only to generate payment links/QR codes; we do not process or store any actual transaction data.

- **Location data** — used for attendance verification (e.g. confirming a worker is at the job site) if this feature is enabled on your device.

- **Camera access** — used for selfie-based attendance verification, if enabled.

- **Attendance and wage records** — data you or your contractor enter within the app to track work hours and payments.

## How We Use Information

- To create and manage your account

- To verify attendance and calculate wages

- To enable direct UPI payment links between contractors and workers

- To improve app functionality and fix issues

## Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Your phone number, name, and UPI ID are visible only to the contractor(s) or worker(s) you are directly connected with inside the app — not to unrelated third parties.

We may share data with service providers (such as our hosting/database provider) strictly to operate the app, under confidentiality obligations.

## Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices via our backend service provider (Supabase). We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

## Your Choices

- You can edit or remove your UPI ID at any time from your profile.

- You can request account deletion by contacting us at the email below, after which your personal data will be removed from our systems, except where retention is required by law.

## Children's Privacy

Worker Mate is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

## Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
