Effective August 3, 2026 · Version 2.3
Workchess opens a user-selected Lichess game in a compact Document Picture-in-Picture window. It performs this work locally in the browser and does not operate analytics, advertising, or a developer-controlled data service.
Workchess handles the URL of the direct Lichess game selected by the user, the browser tab identifier needed to synchronize the Picture-in-Picture window, and rendered Lichess page content needed to arrange the existing game interface and display turn status.
The active game URL and source tab identifier are stored only in the browser's session storage. The session record is removed when the Workchess window or source tab closes. Workchess does not read, copy, or store Lichess passwords or authentication cookies. The embedded Lichess page continues to communicate directly with Lichess over HTTPS using the browser's normal Lichess session.
The Workchess developer does not receive, collect, sell, rent, or share the Lichess game URL, page content, account information, or usage data. Workchess contains no analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or tracking pixel.
Game content is provided by Lichess and is subject to the Lichess privacy policy. If the user explicitly selects the optional “Buy me a coffee” link, a new tab opens PayPal; no information is sent to PayPal by Workchess before that click. PayPal's own privacy terms apply on its website.
Workchess is limited to https://lichess.org/*. Network-header modification is used only for a Lichess-originated direct-game subframe so the user-selected game can appear in Document Picture-in-Picture. Session storage keeps the open-window state synchronized.
Workchess's use of information received through browser permissions adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide Workchess's user-facing Picture-in-Picture functionality and is not used for advertising, profiling, lending, or any unrelated purpose.
Privacy questions can be sent through the support contact published on the Workchess Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons listing. Any material change to this policy will be reflected here and in the store disclosures before the changed data practice is introduced.
