For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
JOHN 3:16
“I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing—testify that the Father has sent me. 37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form
JOHN 5:36-37
Jesus identity is the Son of God - He is not just a prophet
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
Matthew 16:16
This is the foundation of our faith
Jesus is not merely sent like prophets - He is one with the Father in nature.
John 1:14 - "The Word became flesh..."
John 10:30 - "I and My Father are one"
Example:
Like a king sending a servant vs. sending his own son:
A servant carries authority
But the son carries identity, inheritance, and full representation
"God didn't send a message - He sent Himself in the form of His Son!"
This is Jesus' mission
He was sent with divine purpose
For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. - John 6:38
Jesus lived with clear assignment:
He is not self-driven
He is not culture-driven
But Father-driven
He was sent to reveal the Father
Jesus answered:
“Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? - JOHN 14:9
Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. - COLOSSIAN 1:15
If someone ask "What is God like?"
Look at how Jesus forgives,
how He heals,
how He shows compassion,
and how He confronts sin.
"Jesus is God with skin on - touchable, visible, undeniable!"
He was sent to save the world
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. - JOHN 3:17
His mission:
Salvation
Redemption
Restoration
It's like a rescue mission:
Humanity is drowning in sin, Jesus is not watching from Heaven, He steps into the water to save us.
"He didn't shout salvation from heaven - He stepped into our mess to pull us out!"
Total surrender
The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” - JOHN 8:29
Jesus shows us that Sonship is not just identity,
it is obedience and relationship
Even unto death
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! - PHILIPPIANS 2:8
The ultimate proof that He was sent:
He completed the assignment
"The cross was not an accident - it was obedience in action!"
At His baptism
Matthew 3:17 - This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!
At the transfiguration
Matthew 17:5 - Hear Him
God publicly affirmed His identity, His authority, and His mission.
Jesus sends us the same way
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” - JOHN 20:21
This is powerful:
The Son was sent by the Father
Now we are sent by the Son
We carry His message
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. - 2 CORINTHIANS 5:20
Just like Jesus, we represent Heaven on Earth, we carry His love, truth, and power
"You are not just saved - you are sent!"
Do you truly believe Jesus is the Son of God?
Are you living submitted to the Father like Jesus did?
Are you walking in your "sent" identity?
If God sent His son for you, how can you not give your life back to Him?
Jesus is the Son of God! Sent by the Father! Savior of the world!
"The Father sent the Son, the Son saved the world, and now the Son sends YOU!"
