In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
JAMES 2:17
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
MATTHEW 7:21
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?
LUKE 6:46
Imagine someone saying:
"I believe in working out... but I never go to the gym."
"I believe in saving money... but I spend everything."
Belief without action is empty.
In the same way, many say they love God...
Many say they have faith...
But serving God requires movement, obedience, and action.
You don't serve God by intention -
you serve Him by participation
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
JAMES 2:17
Faith is not just what you say -- it's what you do.
Real faith always produces visible action.
Example:
Abraham didn't just believe God - he offered Isaac
Noah didn't just believe the warning - he built the ark
Their faith moved their hands
"Faith that doesn't move you feet is not faith - it's fantasy!"
“If you love me, keep my commands.
JOHN 14:15
Love for God is not emotional only - it is demonstrated through obedience.
Serving God is doing what He says - even when it's hard.
Example:
Peter stepped out of the boat to walk on water (Matthew 14)
Jonah initially refused - and faced consequences
God is not impressed by words - He responds to obedience.
"You can sing loud, shout hard - but if you don't obey, you're not serving"
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
MATTHEW 9:37
God is looking for participants, not spectators.
The Kingdom advances through action
Example:
Moses had to confront Pharaoh
David had to face Goliath
God could do it alone - but He chooses to work through people who act.
A coach doesn't need fans - he needs players on the field.
The church doesn't need more watchers... it needs workers!
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
JAMES 1:22
Hearing the Word is not enough
Knowing what to do but not doing it = disobedience
The rich young ruler walked away (Matthew 19)
He heard Jesus - but didn't act
"God didn't call you to collect sermons - He called you to live them!"
15 Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, 16 the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.
JOSHUA 3:15-16
Miracles often come after you move
God responds to steps of faith
Example:
Joshua had to step into the water
The woman with the issue of blood had to push through the crowd
God's power meets your action
"Some miracles are waiting on your movement... on your command!"
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
ROMANS 12:1
Present your bodies a living sacrifice
Serving God will cost:
Time
Comfort
Reputation
Effort
Example:
Paul endured prison, beatings, hardship
Serving God is not convenient - but it is worth it
"If it cost you nothing, it's not real service!"
there are three kinds of people:
Those who talk about God
Those who think about God
Those who act for God
The question is:
Which one are you?
God is not calling you just to believe - He's calling you to MOVE
If you've been delaying obedience,
sitting on your calling,
hearing but not doing,
today is your day to act!
Step out in faith, Say Yes to God, and commit to serving
Your next level in God is not in more revelation -
it's in your next step of obedience
"God honors effort fueled by faith, not comfort... Give God your all"
