- Open up the Firefox or Chrome browser.
- Paste your website login URL in the address bar at the top of the browser. It should look something like this: http://www.yourwebsite.com.au/secretcode
- Please note - the browser address bar is at the TOP of the browser window. It's not the Google search bar! :)
- Enter your Username and Password to login.
The lefthand column displays links to the various administrative areas in your website and may include:
- Dashboard - The admin dashboard when you login.
- Posts - For creating blog articles.
- Media - For uploading image and files to be used in your website.
- Pages - List of core pages that make up your website.
- Comments - List of comments left on your site for you to approve.
- Users - List of users on your website.
- All-in-One WP - Used for creating website backup files.
- Settings / Akismet - Used for preventing and managing spam comments on your site.
- Settings / WP Maintenance Mode - Used for putting your site into maintenance mode when applying updates.
- Insights - Displays your website Google Analytics activity for your website.
- Contact Forms - Records form submission data on your website database (should form submission emails go missing).
