Media Categories help you manage your website media. Having media categories also allows you to filter images assigned to various categories which is especially helpful when you have many images.

Adding A New Media Category

1. In the left hand column click Media / Media Categories.
2. To create a new media category simply add the Name and Slug and click Add New Media Category.

Note: It's worth mentioning that the Slug is the URL or address path to the category.

All slugs need to be unique so to avoid naming conflicts I usually prefix media categories with img.

Example: A category called Website Images will have the slug imgwebsite
