By downloading, installing, or playing Word Pop (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users of the App worldwide.
Word Pop is a mobile word-building game available on iOS. Players form words from letters, earn points, accumulate XP, and compete on a global leaderboard. The App is free to download and play.
You must be at least 4 years of age to use this App. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. We do not knowingly permit children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your country) to provide any personal information.
Word Pop does not require you to create a traditional account with an email address or password. Instead, the App uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to automatically assign you a unique anonymous identifier when you first launch the App.
This identifier:
Persists across app launches on the same device.
May persist across reinstalls if your device's secure keychain is not wiped.
Does not contain your name, email address, or any other personal information unless you voluntarily provide a display name.
You may choose a display name (up to 11 characters) that will appear publicly on the leaderboard. Display names are subject to availability. By choosing a display name, you represent that it does not violate any third-party rights and is not offensive, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate. We reserve the right to remove any display name that we deem inappropriate.
You agree not to:
Cheat, exploit, hack, or manipulate the App's scoring or leaderboard systems.
Use automated scripts, bots, or third-party software to submit scores or interact with the App.
Attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent the App's security measures, including Firebase Security Rules.
Choose a display name that is offensive, hateful, impersonates another person, or infringes on intellectual property rights.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the App.
We reserve the right to remove any scores, reset any account, or block any user that we reasonably believe has violated these rules, without prior notice.
Scores submitted through normal gameplay are validated server-side. We do not guarantee the accuracy or fairness of the leaderboard at all times, and we reserve the right to remove or adjust scores at our discretion. Leaderboard standings are for entertainment purposes only and carry no monetary value.
All content in the App — including but not limited to graphics, text, game mechanics, music, sound effects, and source code — is owned by or licensed to the developer. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any App content without prior written permission.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the App is at your sole risk. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-excludable statutory warranties that may apply in your jurisdiction.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded by law (including in Australia, EU member states, and other jurisdictions with mandatory consumer protections), our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any part of it at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree that any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.
Notwithstanding the above, nothing in these Terms limits your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws that apply in your country of residence. If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those local protections remain in effect and are not waived by these Terms.

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Word Pop (the "App") collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. It applies to all users of the App worldwide.
Word Pop is designed to be privacy-friendly by default. We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or log in with any social identity. All gameplay is tied to an anonymous, automatically generated identifier. The developer is based in California, United States.
Display Name: A short name (up to 11 characters) you optionally choose to appear on the leaderboard. If you do not set a name, a default name (e.g., "Player XXXX") is assigned automatically. This name is visible publicly to all users.
Anonymous User ID: A unique identifier generated by Firebase Anonymous Authentication. This is not linked to your name, email address, or any other directly identifiable personal information.
Game Statistics: Scores, levels reached, words found, word lengths, combo counts, and game duration for each completed game session.
XP and Rank: Your accumulated experience points and derived rank level within the app.
High Scores: Your personal best score and level reached per game mode.
Cumulative Stats: Total games played, total words found, longest word ever found, and best-scoring word.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information.
We do not collect precise or approximate location data.
We do not collect payment information (the App is free).
We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or photos.
We do not collect device advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID).
We do not use tracking technologies for cross-app or cross-site advertising.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process your data under the following legal bases:
Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): We process anonymous game statistics and identifiers to operate and improve the App, maintain leaderboard integrity, and prevent cheating. We have assessed that these interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms, given the minimal and anonymous nature of the data.
Performance of a Service: Processing your display name and scores is necessary to provide the leaderboard feature you opt into.
We do not rely on consent as a legal basis because no sensitive personal data is collected and no tracking or advertising processing occurs.
We use the information collected solely to:
Display your scores and display name on the global leaderboard.
Calculate and award XP and rank progression.
Restore your game progress after a reinstall on the same device.
Detect and prevent cheating or abuse of the leaderboard.
Improve app performance and gameplay balance.
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, sale to third parties, or any purpose unrelated to operating the App.
All data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore), with servers primarily located in the United States. Game statistics and scores are written exclusively through Firebase Cloud Functions using the Firebase Admin SDK — the app cannot write data directly to the database, which prevents tampering. Firebase Security Rules enforce that no user can read or write another user's profile data.
Your anonymous ID is stored in your device's secure keychain by Firebase, which means it may survive an app reinstall. This is intentional so that your progress is not lost.
International Data Transfers: If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Google Firebase participates in frameworks designed to ensure adequate data protection for international transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. For more details, see Google's data transfer documentation at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
The following limited sharing occurs as part of operating the App:
Leaderboard Display: Your chosen display name and high score are visible publicly on the in-app leaderboard.
Firebase / Google: Data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf. See Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
We may disclose data if required by applicable law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Your game data is retained for as long as you use the App or until you request deletion. If you wish to have your data deleted, please email aurrutia003@gmail.com with your display name, and we will remove your data from our systems within 30 days.
Depending on your country of residence, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
Request access to the data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data.
Because all data is tied to an anonymous identifier (not an email), please include your in-app display name when contacting us.
In addition to the above, you have the right to:
Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Restriction of processing — ask us to limit how we use your data.
Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g., your national supervisory authority or the ICO in the UK).
We aim to respond to all requests within 30 days. If we need more time, we will inform you.
California residents have the right to:
Know what personal information is collected, used, and shared.
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. (We do not sell or share personal information.)
Request deletion of personal information.
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Canadian residents have the right to access their personal information and request corrections. Requests can be directed to aurrutia003@gmail.com.
Australian residents have the right to access and correct personal information we hold about them, and to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if they believe their privacy rights have been breached.
Brazilian residents have rights under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), including the right to access, correct, delete, and object to the processing of their personal data. Contact us at aurrutia003@gmail.com to exercise these rights.
Word Pop is a casual game suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age threshold in your country, such as 16 in certain EU member states). Because we use anonymous authentication and do not collect names, email addresses, or contact information, there is no mechanism by which a child can submit identifiable personal data through normal use of the App.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted identifiable information, please contact us at aurrutia003@gmail.com and we will remove it promptly.
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
Firebase Authentication (Google) — anonymous sign-in. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Cloud Firestore (Google) — data storage. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Firebase Cloud Functions (Google) — server-side game validation. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or social login SDKs.
For any privacy questions, data access requests, correction requests, or deletion requests, please contact:
aurrutia003@gmail.com
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable law. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
