Woove ("we", "us", or "our") is a mobile application that helps dog owners connect with each other for walks, meetups, and playdates. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2.1 Account Information

2.2 Dog Profile
Dog's name, breed, sex, age, and size
Vaccination and neutering status
Dog photos
2.3 Profile Photos
Your profile picture, uploaded and stored securely in the cloud
2.4 Location Data
Precise GPS location (latitude and longitude) — collected when you open or use the app, used to find nearby dog owners. We store a derived geohash for proximity-based matching.
2.5 Matching Preferences
Preferred dog owner gender
Preferred dog breed, sex, age range
Maximum meeting distance (up to 25km)
Meeting type preferences (park meetup, walking buddy, home visit)
2.6 Chat Messages
Messages sent between matched users, including content and timestamps
Messages sent through the Lost & Found feature
2.7 Lost & Found Reports
Dog description, color, breed, distinctive marks, and photos
Location of the lost or found event (latitude, longitude, and optional address)
Date of the event
Contact information (name and optionally phone number) — only shared if you choose to enable "share contact details"
2.8 Device Tokens
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device tokens, used to send push notifications
2.9 Usage Data
Interaction data such as which profiles you have seen, liked, matched with, or blocked
Show you nearby dog owners — Location, preferences
Enable matching and swiping — Profile data, preferences, seen/liked lists
Real-time chat between matches — Messages, user IDs
Lost & Found board — Report data, dog photos, contact info
Send push notifications — Device tokens
Account authentication — Email (via AWS Cognito)
Prevent abuse and enforce community rules — Report data, blocked user lists
Account deletion and data cleanup — All data associated with your account
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:
With matched users: Your name, profile photo, dog profile, and description are visible to users you match with.
Lost & Found contact details: Your name and phone number are only visible to others if you explicitly enable "share contact details" on a report.
Service providers: We use the following third-party services to operate the app:
Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud infrastructure including database storage (DynamoDB), file storage (S3), authentication (Cognito), real-time messaging (API Gateway WebSocket), and content delivery (CloudFront).
Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): For delivering push notifications.
Woove uses your precise GPS location to find dog owners near you. Your location is:
Updated each time you open the app
Stored as coordinates and a geohash for proximity matching
Not shared publicly — it is used internally for feed generation only
You can revoke location permission through your device settings at any time. Without location access, the matching feature will not function.
Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
When you delete your account, we perform a full cascading deletion:
All profile and dog images are deleted from storage
All chat messages are deleted
All Lost & Found reports are deleted
Your profile is removed from other users' match lists
Your Cognito authentication record is deleted
Some data may be retained in backup systems for a short period after deletion as required by our infrastructure.
You have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information through the app's profile settings
Delete your account and all associated data via the "Delete Account" option in the app
Withdraw consent for location access via your device settings
Object to how we process your data by contacting us
Woove is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account.
We take appropriate technical measures to protect your data:
Authentication is handled via AWS Cognito with JWT tokens
Images are stored in AWS S3 with time-limited pre-signed URLs (valid for 7 days)
All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
