Please email this proposal form to the Woolf Salon facilitators: woolfsalonproject@gmail.com.
Date/Time /Time Zone: we aim for the third or fourth Friday of a month, starting between 12:00 pm ET and 3:00 pm ET and running about 2 hours (the host may request a different day and time); include month, date, and desired start and run time
Host/Co-Host: include your name and the name of your co-host (if you have one)
Topic: salons are a time to visit and share our mutual love of and interest in Virginia Woolf and all things literature and letters; we encourage hosts/co-hosts to focus our time together around a particular topic or text likely to inspire conversation within the community. Salons may be organized around any number of things, including critical or creative work-in-progress, books you’ve been reading (or writing!), timely themes or issues, or other Woolf-inspired activities.
Format: salons are typically scheduled for 2 hours. They should consist mainly of open discussion but could follow a variety of formats; e.g.
short presentation (by host) and response (by co-host) before open discussion
roundtable discussion by three to four speakers (dispersing open discussion among all attendees through the event)
open discussion of a provided text (see Homework)
organic dialogue between host and co-host (instead of strict presentation and response) before open discussion or Q&A
Homework: if you wish those who attend to read something beforehand (or think that participation would work best if folks were familiar with a common text), list that here; ideally, please provide a copy or a link. (Note: Homework is not required.)
