Woodward Lions Club Cyber Membership Program
Guiding Policy
INTENT
The Woodward Lions Club Cyber Membership Program is intended to increase membership and community service by creating a program that will allow people who are unable, or unwilling, to attend monthly meetings but are interested in service to the Woodward and World community to participate in the Lions Club through technology and service projects.
CLUB RESPONSIBILITY
The Woodward Lions Club will email the monthly agenda and minutes to cyber members. The Club will also post minutes on the Woodward Lions Website (https://sites.google.com/view/woodwardlions)or www.woodwardlions.com. The Club will also post upcoming activities on the Woodward Lions Facebook page. Cyber Members will also receive e-newsletters from the broader Lion organization.
CYBER MEMBER RESPONSIBILITY
Dues: Cyber members will be required to pay the complete dues of a membership and will be Affiliate Members of the Lions International organization. ($75, $115 family in 2018)
Cyber members will be considered Affiliate Members under the Standard Lions Constitution and are welcome to attend any monthly meeting and will have full voting rights at those meetings. Cyber members not attending regular meetings may be asked to take surveys and provide feedback on local issues but will not be given an ‘electronic’ vote on formal motions.
Cyber Members will not be eligible to hold club, district or international office, nor district, or international committee assignments. Should a cyber member wish to hold an office at the local, district, national, or international level, they will need to become a regular Lions member.
Cyber Members are encouraged to participate in service activities and will be contacted through email with information about upcoming service projects. It is expected that Cyber Members will participate in at least one service project each year.
Cyber Members are strongly encouraged to read monthly emails, agendas, minutes and newsletters. The posted video of meetings may help clarify any questions. If the Cyber Member has questions or comments about club activities, they are encouraged to contact club officers through email.
