Class Expectations
This classroom is a community, and everyone is equally valued as a part of that community. The class rules are intended to make sure our community is safe, positive and open to everyone.
Phones and electronic devices
I will allow phones to be out depending on your behavior. If you are playing games on your phone or on social media and not paying attention to the activity, classmates or teacher you will be given one warning. If you are seen once again your phone will be in phone jail until the end of the period. If it becomes a consistent problem than we will move on to lunch duty etc… This will not be debated. If you argue with me about your phone use, it will mean immediate phone jail. *If you are caught with any electronic device during an exam/test/ presentation you will be considered in violation of the IHS academic honesty policy and will receive a zero.*
Participation
You are in school to learn. Come to class expecting that you will be participating in all types of activities. This classroom will be very dependent on your ability to discuss difficult topics with respect, kindness and an open mind. If you don’t come to class you will not pass.
Academic Dishonesty
Cheating is unethical and will be referred to administration. Refer to Student Handbook for IHS policy. Cheating includes sharing notes without teacher approval, emailing assignments to each other, collaborating on assignments that are individual work, using online websites to write your paper for you and more.
Course Evaluation

*I will not round grades at the end of the semester.
Tests and Projects
All students will be allowed to retake an exam. In order to do this, the student will first need to complete all homework assignments and in class assignments for the unit that the test has come from. There will be a list of assignments on my website at the end of a unit. If this has not been done, the student cannot retake the test. Students will not be allowed to retake quizzes, only end of the unit exams. Retakes can be done at anytime during the semester. All retakes on assessments must be done one week before the end of the semester.
20% Project
This year you will work on a passion project. This project will be ongoing throughout the year and will be work that you won't be working on in another class. Your project will not be graded, but you will be graded on 2 assignments related to this project: 1) a pitch where you present your idea to the class. 2) a final presentation where you will reflect on how your project went and what you learned. More information will be presented soon.
Late Work
I will take any work at any time up to 10 school days before the end of the semester for up to full credit. When a student turns in late work, they must turn in a provided sheet, in person, to me that explains why the assignment is late and how many days late it is.

It is your responsibility to ask for make-up work, schedule make up test, etc. Please come see me to schedule a make-up.
