The Woodland Park Pikes Peak Lions is a service organization that does charitable works in our community through service activities and fundraising. The current club was chartered in 2010, however prior to that there was a club in the community. Funds that we raise are mostly used locally with some going to the Lions Club International fund.
Activities that we are involve in is running Woodland Park Cornhole, and helping with Bingo in Colorado Springs. We also help with Adopt a Highway, 4th of July and Trick or Treat event at Memorial Park. Each spring we also help out at the Colorado Lions Camp to get it ready for campers.
One of the goals of the club is to help local residents in need to get glasses if they do not have insurance and cannot afford them. In addition, we have many “Lions Recycle for Sight” collection boxes throughout the community. The collected eyeglasses are cleaned, sorted and packaged and sent to areas where they are needed..
Meetings: The club meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month, usually at a local restaurant or at the Rampart Library. 6-7:30 pm (No meetings during the cornhole season)
Other charitable donation goals for this year are to give to:
