Participation Requirements
Participation Requirements
Requirements for attending Wood Badge:
Be registered members of the Boy Scouts of America and age 18 or older.
Have completed the basic position-specific training courses for their Scouting role.
Be capable of functioning safely in an outdoor environment. All participants are required to complete the Annual Health and Medical Record. Parts A, B, and C are required which includes a physical. Part C is required for everyone.

About Philmont
Philmont Scout Ranch is in northeastern New Mexico, near the town of Cimarron. Traveling across the country to Philmont is a great experience. Depending on your available time, sightseeing opportunities abound between your home and Philmont.
Only a six-minute drive away is Cimarron, a small village with a population of about 900. There are several small hotels and restaurants. There is also a grocery store, dollar store, and two gas stations in town.
Philmont Scout Ranch, the Boy Scouts of America’s premier High Adventure™ base, challenges Scouts and Venturers with more than 214 square miles of rugged northern New Mexico wilderness. The Philmont Training Center is the national training center for the Boy Scouts of America. The PTC provides a unique environment for training volunteers, creating leaders, and hosting family friendly experiences and adventures. Each year, more than 6,000 Scouters and their families attend the PTC.
