While there have been efforts in recent years to amplify the voices of women in full wind band commissioning and programming, the representation of women composers in the chamber composition genre, particularly works with conductor, continues to be an area of need. This commissioning project will not only support new works by women but will also bring greater awareness to women composers in the wind band medium.
