When Being the Nice One Becomes a Stumbling Block
Presenter: Elke Paul
Often women have the tendency to put harmony above growth and assertiveness. Taking on the mindset of a servant leader comes naturally to many of us and it often is described to us as leaders. With that come the attributes of being the one to lead from behind, the one who understands, supports, and steps in when an extra hand is needed. Leading with empathy is a strengths and is an important skill. But overusing the servant mindset, can hold us back when it comes to setting boundaries, providing guidance amidst uncertainty and formulating clear objectives and expectations. This workshop introduces you to a four-step boundary setting approach that not only helps with boundaries but also strengthens the situational intelligence and clear communication structure to get you and your team where you want to be. This enables you to balance leading from behind with striding out in front or standing your ground when the situation calls for it.

Stretching Your Learning Edges: Growing (Up) at Work
Presenter: Jennifer Abrams
Our world and the work of education is becoming ever more complex, and to meet the moment and support our students even more effectively we, the adults in schools, need to be stretching our growth edges and developing ourselves to become better educators and better human beings. In this workshop, based on her book, Stretching Your Learning Edges: Growing (Up) at Work, Jennifer Abrams shares her strategies for how we can all learn, mature and develop to become even bigger and better adult selves. Through looking at five learning edges - the skills and abilities to know our identities, suspend our certainty, take responsibility, engage with reciprocity, and build resiliency - we consider what it means, in practice, to develop and grow our skills and capacities and mindsets as the lead learners in our schools.

keineschuleohnefeminismus
Presenters: Laura S. & Marthe W.
The feminist group keineschuleohnefeminismus was founded by students, Laura S. & Marthe W. Together with many others they fight against sexism and discrimination in school and for an institutional change of the education system. They fight for a more feminist curriculum, for more reading from and about women, so that they are able to develop role models. We want more diverse biology classes and inclusive sex education for everybody. These are only some of the goals these inspiring students strive to achieve together.
Laura S. & Marthe W. will present their story about how KeineschuleohneFeminismus was founded and the actions they have taken to achieve their goals. This session promises to be an inspiring reminder of why we need #WomenEd to ensure that women are role models for students - as these students will be for us! Their presentation will be followed by opportunities for a Q&A. Don’t miss this session!
