Why Women* at the MI? Who do we aim to support?
Our overall goal is to provide a safe place for discussions, networking and for supporting the women* at the MI.
We recognize that there are people whose gender identity is neither male nor female, and that trans women are women. All women* at the MI and everyone whose gender identity is under-represented are very much welcome to our events.
If you don’t belong to our target group as described above, but you still would like to get engaged, and you support our goal, you are welcome too!
We also organize activities that bring everyone at the MI into the discussion about gender representation in mathematics. Feel free to reach out if you would like to suggest a topic.
We meet biweekly for coffee/tea breaks with free cookies.
We organize lunchtime panel discussions open to everyone in the department. Previous topics of conversation include:
- Imposter Syndrome (28 May 2024)
- Choosing a path forward from a PhD (20 October 2023)
- The Leaky Pipeline (6 March 2023)
- Balancing Work and Family/Personal Life (17 May 2023)
You can find our calendar with upcoming meetings here.
