History

Women@Mila is focused on enriching the social, academic and professional experiences for all women working and studying at Mila through community-building events and initiatives. The organization was born organically in the beginning of 2023, when the two co-founders were discussing a shared interest in driving a greater sense of community for women at Mila as we readjust to in-person activities in the post-pandemic era.

To this end, we decided to host an in-person social gathering for women, to make new friends and learn more about our colleagues’ activities and interests. Our first event served as a catalyst for our new initiative, demonstrating that not only was there a great appetite amongst our female colleagues for more social connection, but also a real need in the community for better female-driven professional support.
