The project has two broad objectives:-
Examine the processes underlying gender differences in PhD fields of specialization in Economics
Develop ideas on how to provide greater equality of opportunity for future generations of economists

Academic Analytics: Information on publications, citations, research funding, honorific awards, gender, year of graduation of faculty members of PhD granting institutions
AEA JEL Classification Codes: Classification of literature in economics
Econ Lit: Information on all published articles in economics journals with JEL codes
Gender API: Information on identifying gender from first name
ProQuest: Information on student dissertations
US News and World Report Rankings: Ranking of US economics departments
