A group of women in Jonesville, the southwestern corner of Virginia who have come together to strengthen our Community.

Read Across America 2024
Read Across America was a huge success.
Five of us went out to the local schools in Lee County VA., and read Dr. Seuss's books to the kiddos! Our hearts melted as the children gave us hugs for our time, the true blessing was ours!
We gave a Donation to MEOC on April 28, 2024 for their Fuel Fund.

Mountain Empire Older Citizens Inc.
Mountain Empire Older Citizens Inc. is also hosting a walk-a-thon on Sunday May 5, 2024. It will be located at the Bullitt park/Greenbelt in Big Stone Gap
Registration is at 1:00 PM and the walk begins at 2:00 PM If you want additional information or forms, contact MEOC at (276) 523-4202.

Each new member brings a unique story and set of skills, enriching our club's dynamic and contributing to our collective journey of growth, learning, and positive impact in our community. We welcome everyone who shares our values of inclusivity, empowerment, and camaraderie to join us in creating a vibrant and inspiring space for women to thrive.
We meet every third Thursday of each month.

Welcome Message
Mayor Jerry Harris Welcomed all to the Memorial Service and thanked all who attended.

Angela Rovinelli of the JWC
Shared a message of how in "Lee County," we have not forgotten our Country and what it means to be free!
Angela explained that she is new to the area, coming from Connecticut approximately a year ago.
Angela, during her speech at the park, highlighted the profound patriotism she has observed in Lee County, Virginia.
She noted with pride how the local school systems continue to uphold the tradition of including the Pledge of Allegiance in their morning announcements, fostering a sense of national pride and unity among the students. She is proud to belong to such a community!
