GOAL #1

My Goal

SPECIFIC

. My goal for this class is to obtain knowledge and understanding of what Geology is about. throughout
my whole life living in this world I have been intrigued with nature, and I enjoy experiencing new places around the world, but I have never understood or pay attention to why nature has placed certain minerals or rocks that are different in many ways. I have never studied the history of why certain minerals or rocks are placed specifically in certain areas throughout time and the reason for that being. that's something I want to understand in this class.

MEASURABLE

What I will need to show for this goal to be accomplish is to be discipline in every aspect of this class. I will need to pay attention to the lectures and the assignments that are given to me. I need to put my effort and not miss any days of class. I need to come to class with an open mind and understand what each chapter is about. I will need to do the readings from each chapter and give it my all every day, no excuses.

ACTION-ORIENTED

My actions to reach out my goals for this class are not complicated for me. I need to come to class with a discipline attitude and open mind.

REALISTIC

Should be something that is attainable given the resources and limitations that you have

I will have to understand that being realistic is only going to help me to accomplish the knowledge that i want to obtain. I have to give my 100% effort and ask questions whenever I don't understand something from the lecture or the chapter.

TIMELY

Allow reasonable time to complete each goal, but not so much time that you lose focus

By the end of this semester. do not be late or disruptive in class. I do feel comfortable that my knowledge of Geology will increased and I will come of this class content with my knowledge.

My goal for this semester in general is to get an A and understand Geology as a subject that it is very important to our ecosystem and nature overall. I would like to understand Geology and be able to identify 80% of the rocks and minerals that are presented to us and the minerals that we study as well. I want to be able to feel comfortable and confident in understanding what our professor teaches us.

Goal #2

My SMART Goal is to understand Geology and the rocks and minerals that we study in this class.  I will know that I have reached my goal if by the end of the semester I can identify 80% of the rocks and minerals that are presented to me and have an A as my final grade.  In order to reach it, I will take the following actions. Study and read the chapters that we are covering each week. I will need to show up top class every day and pay attention to what the professor is teaching and put it to practice so I can get it stuck in my head. I know this is attainable in the course of this semester because people have done it in the past and they are not any different the me. this is a subject I am interested in and for those reasons, I know it is attainable. I plan to accomplish my goal by giving it my all and staying focus and engage with the class and professor.
