After a long-dormant substance arises and easily outsmarts the External Alliance, they formulate a plan to attack the corruption at its source: another world lost to time and space. But when Basalt is sent to the other dimension to stop the substance, he finds himself helpless... and trapped. The portal was shattered. Communication with his home world had gone silent.
