In 2014, following the tragic death of NWU football player Maury Lorence, Bob Walz began hosting a bible study on campus for the team. Through God's sovereignty, the study grew into a weekly fellowship meeting and has been meeting ever since.
Upon graduating in 2020, former Prairie Wolf Braly Keller began collaborating with Bob on ways to include more players in intentional relationships like the ones formed in the study. With the help of Head Coach Brian Keller, the design for the Wolf2Wolf Mentoring Program was created.
With a focused vision on the incoming freshman class, the program is seeking 60+ former players to serve as mentors. In the future, the program intends to provide mentors for every player on the roster, as well as prepare them to serve as leaders and mentors post-graduation.Â
