Support Bill that Bans Congressional Stock Trading – A bipartisan bill has been introduced in the House and Senate (S.1879) that requires legislators to sell individual stocks within 180 days, and newly elected members would need to divest before being sworn in. See details of the ETHICS Act here. Please contact our MoCs and ask them to support and cosponsor this bill. Contact information is below.
Oppose Equal Representation Act – H.R. 1 would add a citizenship question to the US Census and delete anyone who is not a citizen from being counted for congressional reapportionment and Electoral College votes. Any states with large immigrant populations would not only lose federal funds, they would also lose representatives in Congress. The bill has passed out of committee in the House and will be voted on by the full House. It is strongly opposed by the League of Women Voters. Sen. Hagerty is the sponsor of this bill in the Senate. Please contact our MoCs with your feedback. Contact information is below.
Join the Free America Walkout on Jan 20 in Knoxville. One year into Trump’s second regime, we face an escalating fascist threat: ICE raids on our communities, troops occupying our cities, families torn apart, attacks on our trans siblings, mass surveillance, and terror used to keep us silent. It is time for our communities to escalate as well. On Jan 20 we will walk out of work, school, and commerce. We will withhold our labor, our participation, and our consent. A free America begins the moment we refuse to cooperate. This is not a request. This is a rupture. This is a protest and a promise. In the face of fascism, we will be ungovernable. https://www.facebook.com/share/1AB7VTGzGH/
