Call for Submissions

For Authors

The 2nd Workshop in Mathematical and Computational Biology (WMCB2022) will take place on June 9th-10th, 2022. We invite submissions for both Contributed Talks (20 min) and Posters + Short Talks (3 min) addressing problems of interest to biologists by means of mathematical, computational, machine-learning, and data science methods. We welcome interdisciplinary and collaborative work, where co-authors include biologists, mathematicians, statisticians, data scientists, and computer-scientists.

The topics of WMCB2022 include:

  • Bioinformatics.

  • Ecology.

  • Epidemiology.

  • Neuroscience.

These topics are intended in a broad sense. We welcome submissions from theoretical to applied from researchers working at the intersection of biology, mathematics, and computation, and who are interested in creating a collaborative community across disciplines. Submissions which use novel mathematical and computational methods to solve questions of interest to biology are encouraged. Perspective projects and projects which propose new questions of interest to biology to be solved with mathematical and computational tools are very welcome.

Accepted Contributed Talks will be 20-minute presentations (15min + 5min for questions) that will take place live during one of the scheduled time slots, sorted according to the theme to which it most closely relates.

Accepted Posters and their accompanying 3-minute Short Talks will be uploaded in our V-Rooms and presenters are encouraged to be at their spot in the V-rooms during the poster sessions for discussion with the other participants. Posters + Short Talks (3 min) will also be posted on the webpage of the workshop for all its duration.
