Ready?
You visit the library after school one day to study… well, to cosy up with a good book and call it study. You choose a quiet, out of the way corner and settle in. You’re so engrossed in the story that when you look up, you realise it’s dark outside and you’re all alone. You’ve been locked inside the library, and the staff have gone home! There are worse places to be (just think of all the bedtime reading available to you now!) but it’s dinnertime and you’re getting hungry.
“Hello?”
The voice echoes from nearby. You round a shelf and see your friend Polo.
“Marco!” cries Polo. “You got lost in your book and missed the closing announcement too?”
“Yes,” you reply. “It’s always been my dream to have the library to myself, but I think we’d better find a way out.”
“I agree,” says Polo. “How do you suppose the staff get out after they lock the doors? There’s a keypad over there by the lift, I wonder if we can figure out the code.”
You lift the lid on the keypad, and a slip of paper falls out…
“How do we find this book, Polo? I don’t think anyone has ever written about my Grandpa making a great escape from anywhere,” you say.
“Look over there, Marco. One of the computers is still on – we might be able to search the library catalogue.”
(Search the library catalogue to find the right answer)
