Varsity Assistant Coach

Matt Halter:

I attended WLA for my four years of high school from 2003-2007, wrestling all four years on the varsity team in the 125 pound weight class. I won a total of 94 matches, won a Conference Title in 2007, was a 2x WIAA Sectional Qualifier, and ended with a senior season record of 36-5.

I have been an assistant coach for our high school program and have helped with the youth program since my graduation in 2007 (serving as Head Youth Coach in 2014). I am also a Copper and Bronze level certified USA Wrestling coach.

I currently teach at Fond du Lac High School.

Varsity Assistant Coach/JV Coach

Eric Schroeder:

From 1993-1997, I wrestled on the varsity team for WLA at 189 pounds. During that time, I was a three time WISAA state qualifier/two time WISAA state place winner and a two time conference champion. I accumulated 107 varsity wins and had a senior season record of 39-2.

I began coaching for WLA in 2001 as an assistant wrestling and football coach. I served as an assistant wrestling coach until 2007 when I took over as the varsity head wrestling coach, a position I held until 2011 when I had to step down to pursue outside professional advancement.

I currently continue to serve as an assistant coach.

Assistant Varsity and JV Coach

Scott Marshall:

I graduated from WLA in 2003, wrestling on the varsity team all four years between the 119-130 pound weight classes. I placed 2nd in the Conference as a senior, receiving 2nd Team All-Conference Honors.

I have served as an assistant varsity and jv coach since 2004, and enjoy serving in this capacity to this day. I like to focus on conditioning and mental toughness as key aspects/benefits of the sport of wrestling.

I completed a B.S. in Criminal Justice at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 2007.
