Another way to practice self-care is to say positive affirmations to yourself. Positive affirmations are positive phrases that we repeat to ourselves. Take a look at "the reflection in me" video to the left.
Positive Affirmation activity
teacher will pass out 2 post-its to each student.
Brainstorm some examples of positive affirmations.
Have students write down 2 positive affirmations.
teacher can hold a mirror and have students take turns coming up to the mirror, looking at themselves in the mirror and saying one of their positive affirmations.
Have students take home post its and place it on a mirror at home.
Continue to practice saying the chosen positive affirmation daily
