What Events does WKWC cover?
WKWC COVERS ALL WEST KINGDOM EVENTS
The WKWC will cover ANY West Kingdom event, wherever located. (The only exception is the West/An Tir War) It is up to the Autocrat/Event Steward, Exchequer and Constable for the event to allow the offer.
Note: The WKWC is not an official office or function of the SCA, Inc., or the West Kingdom.
What does the WKWC offer?
The WKWC offers to pay the the difference between member and non-member fee for any non-member willing to accept our offer. This is not just for newcomers, but also for those coming back after a stop-out, or those who have just temporarily forgotten to renew their membership. The WKWC is about welcoming ALL non-members, not about asking for reasons.
What do stewards and financial committees need to do?
Record the gate results. Offer the WKWC gift to those non-members who attend. Make a mark next to the ones who accept the offer and charge them the member price. Count them. Send Flieg the numbers (email, Facebook DM, etc). Let him know what the WKWC owes. The check will be in the mail the same day. If you collected donations to the WKWC, please let him know how much was donated.
What numbers does WKWC ask for?
Total number of attendees
Total number of non-members attending
The number of them who accepted the WKWC offer
The amount of donations (if any)
NOTE: IF THERE ARE EXCESS DONATIONS, PLEASE RETAIN THEM AS CASH! If the money is deposited in an SCA account for safe keeping it cannot be transferred to the WKWC. (SCA regulation.)
WHO IS THE WKWC?
The West Kingdom Welcome Committee is the brainchild of Flieg Hollander, aka Frederick of Holland. It was founded in 2003. He runs it. Anyone who donates money to it is a valued partner in offering welcome to all.
