Presentation by Sarah Haught, Assistant Director for Recruitment and Retention in the Student Financial Assistance office
Below, please find the presentation Sarah used, as well as some documents for more context. The student account planning sheet will help you plan your costs and resources for the semester or the year, to help you determine how much you should take out in loans, outside scholarships, etc. Additionally, Sarah talked about Satisfactory Academic Progress, which is essential if you want to maintain your federal aid funding!
Other Financial Aid Sources
If your financial aid package isn't quite what you were hoping it would be, for whatever reason, there are lots of options for additional funding:
Be sure to fill out your TopDollar application every year! The priority deadline is December 31st, 2023, so get your general application in ASAP to be considered for even more scholarships.
Check out websites like Fastweb and Nelnet Scholarships to find external scholarships that you might be eligible for. These vary in amounts, requirements, and deadlines, so pay close attention to the details.
You can even reach out to local businesses and organizations to see if they offer scholarships for employees, relatives, community members, whatever applies to you!
