Orchestra 1 (prerequisite at least 1 year of orchestra in middle school)
Course Goals:
Independent tuning of instruments using fine tuners and pegs
1 Octave Scales up to 3 sharps and flats
Shifting to 2nd and 3rd positions (+1/2 position for cello / bass)
Perform repertoire up to and including SCMEA standard grade 3
Introduce and begin to refine vibrato
Follow South Carolina Instrumental Music Standards for high school level 1-2

Orchestra 2 - 5 (pre-requisite complete Orchestra 1)

Perform repertoire up to and including SCMEA standard grade 4
Follow South Carolina Instrumental Music Standards for high school level 2-3

Course Goals :
All 2 Octave Scales, select 3 Octave scales for advanced students
Refine Vibrato
Complete self sufficiency in tuning
Shifting to 2nd, 3rd, 4th and beyond (Cello/Bass thumb position)
Perform repertoire SCMEA standard grade 4-6
Follow South Carolina Instrumental Music Standards for high school level 3-4
