Welcome to the presentation of findings from the South African leg of the third wave of the Worlds of Journalism Study (WJS3). This purpose of this website is to disseminate the findings to a larger audience - especially journalists.
The WJS3 survey asks wide-ranging questions on journalists' safety, perceptions of their roles, threats to their newswork and their understanding of ethical behaviour, amongst other things. The findings presented here are organised to the various sections and themes explored by the survey.
Click on the drop-down menu at the top-left to navigate to each section. Interactive graphs enable you to filter some of the responses.

For questions or comments on the findings, please contact Dr Marenet Jordaan from the Department of Journalism at Stellenbosch University (the Principal Investigator for the WJS3 in South Africa) at marenet@sun.ac.za.Â
