The W. J. Keenan High School Band Program, currently under the direction of Mr. Howard C. C. Parnell, holds a history of excellence in the performing arts. The program is comprised of a Concert Band, a Jazz Ensemble and a Marching Band.
The Marching Band was recently apart of the 2024 National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D.C.
We strive to provide each student an invaluable educational experience while in high school and to prepare our fine students to be successful citizens and leaders in our communities. We take great pride in representing the Richland County Community and South Carolina with distinction.
Grand Champions
Grand Champions
W.J. Keenan’s marching band was named the Grand Champion for Class 1A and 2A and Best Musical Performance for Class 2A. W.J. Keenan’s marching band also placed first overall for Class 2A and received an “Excellent” rating for Class 2A. Lower Richland’s marching band earned the Best Drum Major award for Class 2A.
W.J. Keenan’s marching band will compete in the traditional high step state championship at Wilson High School in Florence October 19. W.J. Keenan will compete in the Class 1A/2A Division.
