Diwali at school was a delightful affair, even with most hostellers away. The few who stayed celebrated with the resident principal and teachers, enjoying a memorable evening filled with joy. Embracing a *Green Diwali*, we avoided crackers, lighting eco-friendly diyas instead. The campus glowed with vibrant rangolis and handmade decorations.
We reflected on Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya, symbolising the victory of light over darkness. The celebration inspired us to protect the environment while cherishing traditions, teaching that true festivity lies in harmony with nature.
Bhratri Dwitiya
Woodridge International School remained closed for Bhai Tika, also known as Bhai Dooj or Bhratri Dwitiya. Students celebrated the occasion with enthusiasm, honouring the bond between brothers and sisters. The festival’s origin lies in the tale of Yamraj, the god of death, visiting his sister Yamuna. She welcomed him with a tilak, prayers, and a feast, earning his blessing for protection. The story teaches the value of nurturing relationships, resonating with the school’s emphasis on fostering love, unity, and mutual respect.
After Diwali, the school reopened with children joyfully sharing festive stories during breaks, enjoying games, and exchanging sweets. Learning extended beyond classrooms as students embraced the sunny day with creativity and growth. With studies and activities resuming, the campus buzzed with enthusiasm. Best wishes to all students for their continued learning journey and success ahead!
The school remained closed for two days to celebrate Chhath Puja, a festival dedicated to the Sun God, the ultimate source of energy. Devotees offer prayers at sunrise and sunset, symbolising gratitude for life and nature's cycles. This practice, along with basking in sunlight, boosts vitality and immunity, especially during seasonal transitions. Chhath Puja teaches reverence for nature, fostering harmony between humanity and the environment.
The third round of periodic tests has officially started, with students ready to put their knowledge and preparation to the test. This is a great opportunity for them to review and reinforce what they’ve learned so far.
Wishing all our students the best—keep up the hard work and aim high!
