The Wise Parent Teacher Student Organization welcomes all levels of involvement: paid memberships, occasional volunteers, dedicated board members, teachers, students, and sponsors. The Wise PTSO is comprised of parents, teachers, and students interested in making Dr. Henry A. Wise, Jr. High School an enriching and productive environment for our students and community.

Hello Amazing Puma Parents!
Welcome back! This year, we are hoping that you will consider joining our team and help us provide our members with services and needs throughout the year.
Just what does the PTSO do? We have helped the Wise Community with the following:
· Assisted families with Thanksgiving baskets
· Assisted kids with Christmas gifts
· Assisted kids with uniforms
· Provided teachers with a week of surprises during Teachers Appreciation Week
· Provided the teachers with school supplies
· Helped students with obtaining community service hours
· Awarded scholarships to our graduating seniors
We hope that you would be willing to help us to grow our PTSO and do better for our students who are extremely important to us. If you are interested in joining the PTSO, please find our link on the Wise High School website or our group on Facebook (DHAWHS Parent Info Group). Please note that you do not have to be an officer but we are asking that you be willing to donate your time to enhance and build our Puma Pride.

Our Mission
Wise PTSO is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of youth at Dr. Henry A. Wise, Jr., High School by fostering relationships among the school, parents, teachers and students.
The objectives of the Wise PTSO are:
• To promote the welfare of youth at home, school, and community.
• To foster a closer relationship between home, school, and the surrounding community.
The Wise PTSO is organized exclusively for the charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501§ (3) of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding Section of any future Federal Tax Code (hereinafter 'Internal Revenue Code").
Did you know, over 500 independent studies on parent involvement show that when parents get involved in their children's education, grades go up, test scores improve, children are more likely to attend better schools after high school, they have fewer disciplinary problems and they're less likely to use drugs and alcohol?

Every contribution whether money or time, helps us make a difference! Please support the Wise PTSO this year through your membership dues and volunteer time, as the students and staff count on our support through the entire school year.
