About Us / History:

Hooked on Line Dance

My passion for country line dancing came from Grandma Darlene Quirt. Grandma started line dancing when I was at a young age in elementary school. I was not allowed to go along because I was too young.

In 2010, at age 25 my wife and I started to line dance.

The three of us would drive to Sherri-Land Ballroom every Tuesday for line dance lessons. Roughly sometime in 2012 I was considered a DJ for the Central Wisconsin Country Dancers.

Our daughter started line dancing at age 6.

The Start of Master J DJ Service later turned into Sound-a-Motion DJ Service and later formed into Wisconsin Country Style Dancers.

2010:

Master J DJ Service was created. We will never forget our first wedding in Abbotsford WI @ Red Arrow Park. We also played background music for the Trick or Treat @ Wild Wood Zoo for a few years.

Being members of the Central Wisconsin Country Dancers (CWCD), it only made sense for us to play music for the group as well.

2014:

Jeremy started instructing part-time @ Sherriland Ballroom in the Town of Sherry. At the same time, we started a beginner line dance class in Marshfield @ the Chestnut Art Center for Performing Arts.

The next year, Jeremy was approached and asked to take over Sherriland lessons. A few years later, Jeremy became the full-time instructor at Sherriland and the main DJ of the CWCD.

Around this time, a new name emerged, Sound-a-Motion Traveling DJ Service. In 2018 we tweaked the name to Sound-a-Motion DJ Service & Country Dance Lessons.

2019:

Before 2019, we have been the Disc Jockey for many events. Events have ranged from weddings, birthday parties, wedding anniversaries, community events, private parties, church events/nonprofit events, school dances and of course, Country Line Dancing.

We are based in Marshfield, but have performed in area communities suchs as Auburndale, Abbotsford, Kronenwetter, McMillan, Neillsville, Plover, Spencer, Stratford & Wisconsin Rapids.

The decision was made to stop being a Disc Jockey at events and concentrate merely on Country Line Dance Lessons.

2021:

Classes were moved to Rembs Celebration Center in the summer of 2021. June 2021 was our first lesson at Rembs in Marshfield.

We performed a demo during June Dairy fest on stage at Wenzel Family Plaza, a demo in September at the Central Wisconsin State Fair and a demo for Maple Fest at Wildwood Park.

We conducted a few line dance lessons in the Expo building at the Marshfield Fair Grounds for Fairest of the Fair.

2022:

In 2022 we started doing summer lessons at Munson Bridge Winery in Owen/Withee. and started dancing at the American Legion in Loyal.

Other highlights: performing a demo during Farm Technology Days in Loyal at Rustic Occasions, a demo at Hub City Days and a demo Maple Fest in Marshfield.

We also conducted our first demo during Alpine Holidays in November at Columbus Catholic High School.

2024:

January 2024 we entered a new area...Wausau while utilizing The Labor Temple as our first venue.

Lessons were moved from Rembs Celebration to Our Lady of Peace August 2024.

September 21 2024 marked another new market - Stevens Point/Plover area. Our first lesson/dance was at Rookies Sports Pub in Stevens Point.
