Key principle: WirelessShare operates entirely offline over your local network. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or files to any external server, cloud, or third party. All data stays on your devices and the devices you connect to.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any other personal identifier.
We do not collect, upload, or store any files you transfer. Files are sent directly from your device to the recipient’s device over the local network and are not retained by us.
We do not use analytics, tracking cookies, or advertising identifiers.
We do not access your device’s internet connection or mobile data for file transfer purposes.
To enable the core functionality, the App may temporarily use the following information only on your device and within your local network:
Local IP address – to identify your device on the network and establish peer‑to‑peer connections.
Device name – to display a friendly name to other nearby devices (you can change this in your App).
Network interface status – to detect whether you are on a Wi‑Fi or wired LAN.
Files you select – they are read only for the duration of the transfer and are not stored after the transfer completes, except as cached temporarily for transmission.
This information is never sent to us or any external service; it is used solely for the peer‑to‑peer communication within your local network.
When you use the “Web Sharing” feature, the receiving device opens a web browser to access a local HTTP server hosted by the sending device. The browser receives only the files you choose to share. No data passes through the internet. The local server is active only during the transfer session and does not log any personal data.
The App may request certain permissions (e.g., access to storage, camera, or Wi‑Fi state) to perform file transfers, scan QR codes, or discover devices. These permissions are used only for the functionality you initiate and are not used to collect data. You can manage or revoke these permissions in your device settings.
Since we do not collect any personal data on our servers, there is no data to retain or delete on our side. Any temporary data (e.g., transfer cache) resides solely on your device and is automatically cleared after the transfer is complete or when you close the App.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will take steps to remove it (though we do not collect such information in the first place).
We take reasonable measures to secure the local network communication. However, because the App operates over your local network, you should ensure your network is protected (e.g., using WPA2 encryption on Wi‑Fi). We are not responsible for any interception or unauthorised access that may occur due to vulnerabilities in your local network environment.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the App or on our website. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
