Effective Date: June 10, 2026
WIRD ("we", "us", or "our") operates the WIRD mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience when using our app.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the WIRD mobile application, especially regarding sensitive permissions and user data, in compliance with Google Play Store Developer Policies.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using WIRD, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
If you choose to create an account or sign in (via Google Sign-In or Email/Password), we collect and store:
Email Address
Display Name (used locally to customize greetings and stats)
Age / Date of Birth
Gender (optional)
This information is securely synchronized with Google Firebase Firestore to back up and sync your reading journey, progress, stats, and configurations across multiple devices.
To track your reading habits and goals, we collect:
Surah and verse bookmarks (last read positions)
Completed daily reading progress (streaks, verses read per day)
Earned Hassanat points
Reading session durations and performance statistics
This data is stored locally in an encrypted SQLite database (Room DB) on your device. If you are signed in, it is also synced to Firebase Firestore.
To perform its core application-blocking functions, WIRD requires the following sensitive permissions. We treat this data as strictly private, and it never leaves your device:
Usage Access Permission (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS):
How it is used: WIRD monitors the launch and active usage duration of distracting apps selected by you (e.g., social media, games). This allows the app to know when you have exceeded your self-imposed daily or continuous usage limits.
Privacy Guarantee: The lists of your installed apps and usage statistics are processed strictly locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your app usage statistics, package list, or screen time data to our servers or any third parties.
System Alert Window Permission (Draw Over Other Apps / Overlay):
How it is used: WIRD displays a fullscreen Quran reading overlay when you attempt to open a blocked application after exceeding your usage limit. The overlay prevents access to the blocked app until you read a chosen number of Quran verses.
Privacy Guarantee: No personal information, screen contents, or inputs are captured, logged, or sent to any server through this overlay.
Notification Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS):
How it is used: Used to send a daily reminder at 8:00 PM to encourage Quran reading, triggered only if you have not met your daily reading goal for that day.
Vibration Permission:
How it is used: Provides haptic feedback during page navigation, swipes, and action confirmation.
We use RevenueCat to manage and verify in-app purchases and subscriptions (monthly, yearly, and lifetime plans).
When you subscribe or purchase a premium plan, Google Play Billing handles your financial transaction. We do not collect or store credit card details or bank account information.
RevenueCat processes purchase status, receipts, and subscription expiration dates to activate premium features (such as App Groups and premium themes) in the app.
To improve app performance, stability, and usability, we use:
Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymous information about how users interact with the app (e.g., button clicks, screens viewed).
Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash logs, device models, and operating system versions when the app experiences a crash or error.
All diagnostics data is completely anonymized and does not contain personal information.
We use the collected data to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the WIRD experience.
Track and display your Quran reading progress, Hassanat, and streaks.
Synchronize your progress across multiple devices.
Personalize your experience with greetings and preferred font styles/translations.
Enforce the application usage limits and blocking screens as configured by you.
Process premium purchases and enable subscription-gated features.
Troubleshoot technical issues and prevent crashes.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. We only share information with third-party service providers (Google Firebase and RevenueCat) as necessary to perform essential functions (authentication, cloud sync, crash reporting, and subscription verification) under strict confidentiality agreements.
You have full control over your data:
Delete Local Data: You can delete all local database records, cached reading history, and app configurations directly within the app by navigating to Settings > Delete All Data.
Delete Synced/Cloud Account Data: If you have created an account and wish to permanently delete your cloud synchronization data from Google Firebase, please contact us at support@wirdapp.com with your registered email, and we will delete your account and Firestore data within 30 days.
WIRD is designed for users of all ages, including children who want to build a Quran reading habit. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union) without parental consent. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers immediately.
WIRD integrates the following third-party services whose privacy policies govern their collection of anonymous data:
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in this file and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
