CHANDOS PARK CELEBRATION DAY - 27th September
Chandos Park has been awarded Green Flag Status! The Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Anjana Patel, and local councillors visited the park last week to recognize the excellent renovation work and formally present the award to the Chandos Park Community Group (CPCG). Thanks to everyone who helped in elevating the park .
In summary the criteria a park is judged by to be awarded this status is as follows:
Welcoming – The park is inviting, accessible, and has clear signage.
Healthy, Safe & Secure – Facilities are safe, clean, and promote wellbeing.
Well Maintained & Clean – Regular upkeep of plants, equipment, and litter.
Environmental Management – Sustainable practices with minimal environmental impact.
Biodiversity & Heritage – Protects wildlife, natural features, and historic elements.
Community Involvement – Locals are engaged in managing and improving the park.
Marketing & Communication – Good promotion and clear visitor information.
Management – Effective plans in place for ongoing care and development.
An Open Meeting is planned at 7pm on the 8th October 2025. This will also include the Chandos Park Community Group's (CPCG) Annual General Meeting (AGM).
All CPCG committee positions are up for re-election every year. This is made up of: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer & Park Warden. Anyone is welcome to stand for a role. All attendees at the meeting will have the opportunity to vote and choose the new committee members.
This year the positions of Treasurer and Secretary will need to be filled by new people, as the current holders of these roles have been in place for three years and are stepping down.

Environmental initiatives like the Bottle Man sculpture and plastic recycling displays raised awareness about sustainability.
Bird-watching events offered a peaceful opportunity to connect with local wildlife.
