Summer of Music
We are excited to announce a collaboration between the Zion Park District and the Winthrop Harbor Parks and Recreation Department to enhance activities and the overall recreational experience in both communities.
As part of our collaboration efforts, we have jointly created the Summer of Music Series to advertise the free music series in both communities. We hope to allow area residents to enjoy our parks with some music throughout the summer months.
Our events are fun and festive gathering opportunities for family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy good company and live music. We hope our collaboration efforts will provide our communities with an opportunity to continue building our great neighborly relationships.
Parks & Rec News
Teen Dance & Gym Night
Teen Dance and Gym night are a monthly event held at the Schlader building for Village of Winthrop Harbor Residents. They begin during the school year in September and runs until May. As always, the normal school dress code is enforced, and once a child enters the dance, they will not be allowed to leave until 9pm or a parent comes to the door to pick them up. Admission is $8 at the door and pop, candy, and pizza are available to purchase.
Teen Dance is the 2nd Friday of the month from 7pm-9pm for 5th - 8th Grade.
Gym Night is the 3rd Friday of every month from 7pm-9pm for K - 4th grade. All parents need to sign their child in when dropping them off. We ask that ALL parents picking up their child at 9pm to please come inside and walk out with your child.
