I've just gotten a new PC with 64-bit Windows 11 installed and I have been unable to install any version of WinRAR. First, Smart App Control, tries to stop me from opening the installer. Then, it just tells me "This app can't run on your PC".

WinRAR is a free app with which you can compress and decompress any file on your computer in a simple and effective way. This powerful software makes optimizing file organization, storage, and data transfer processes easy. In addition, the program integrates seamlessly into the Windows context menu, allowing you to create a RAR or ZIP file with any item on your computer in seconds. WinRAR allows you to reduce the size of your files without compromising quality. The compression efficiency of this tool is unmatched, both for saving hard drive space and speeding up file transfers. It also has high compression and decompression speeds to help you extract files from compressed formats in the shortest possible time. To decompress anything on your computer, regardless of its format, just double-click its icon.

WinRAR supports various formats, so you can always work with ZIP, RAR, or 7Z files. Beyond that, when compressing your files, this tool supports CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, ACE, UUE, BZ2, JAR, and ISO formats, among many others. This app's versatility makes it an indispensable tool for your day-to-day life.

When working with this tool, you can encrypt your documents with Rinjdael (AES-128), digital signatures, or modification blocking. With this additional layer of security, you can protect your personal information when compressing, decompressing, or transferring your documents.

Yes, WinRAR is a safe program, although older versions may have security flaws that have subsequently been fixed. That said, while WinRAR is safe, that's not necessarily true for the file you unzip with it.

If signature is from major CA and name of signee matches expectations, then all is well barring major cybersecurity incident on software vendor side.

Personally there has been absolutely no reason to buy winrar or winzip this or last decade, you can use 7zip instead. Winrar offers nothing that OSS does not and it probably survives only thanks to brand recognition alone.

However, when the files to be copied are winrar parts (xxx.part01.rar; xxx.part02.rar, etc) I get the error message quoted below (each part file size is 100Mb)

"InvalidTemplate. Unable to process template language expressions in action 'Create_file' inputs at line '1' and column '1475': 'The template language function 'body' cannot be used when the referenced action outputs body has large aggregated partial content. Actions with large aggregated partial content can only be referenced by actions that support chunked transfer mode.'. "

I ran some tests, and it seems that the issue is not related to the type of files (winrar parts) because with small size files (total 7 files of 1 Mb each), the flow works ok, even if they were password protected winrar files.

So, it looks like that's a matter of the type of files and their size. I'm talking about 58 files of 100 Mb each (i.e. xxx.part01.rar up to xxx.part58.rar). If I try by only one file (i.e. I leave only xxx.part01.rar in the original directory), the errror message is the same.

I also tried to google "actions that support chunked transfer mode" and I couldn't find anything understandable for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

According to your description, I created a simple flow to test this issue. The Winrar files on OneDrive are all below 10 MB, all the files can be saved from OneDrive to OneDrive for Business without issues.

Looking up my old Buttons with Winrar and 7-Zip Commands I found they are no longer working properly with Version10.

I know that these Buttons are no longer useful but their behaviour are very mysterious and they're showing a bug.

A simple Winrar-command like this:

@nodeselect "/programfiles\WinRAR\WinRAR.exe" x {f} doesn't extract the selected Archive to the current directory but to "C:\Windows\System32".

This happens with all Commands to create/extract Archives using Winrar or 7-Zip.

My only thought is that there is an issue with access rights. So far the executable works correctly on an older server (Windows Server 2003), the development computer (Win XP), and my company laptop (Win7), but the executable does not archive the data on the Server 2012 server or on another computer running WIndows 7. I have all of these machines logged in as the same domain administrator account, but IT networks are admittedly over my head, so I wanted to check here to see if anyone has seen this issue with WinRAR and/or the System Exec.vi.

When in your EXE was does the standard out, and error out return from the exec? I'd suggest adding debugin indicators so when in an EXE you can see what the output is, along with what the input to the function is.

To double-check the command line command, I manually typed one of the commands passed into the System Exec.vi into the command prompt, and there were no issues (attached: "Manual Execution.jpg). There must be something wrong with my wiring of the System Exec.vi.

To test this, I put together a quick VI using just the System Exec.vi and one rar command (attached: "Single RAR Command.jpg"). This executable runs correctly with no errors on my laptop. There is no message in the Standard Error or the Error Out of the System Exec.vi. The Standard Output of the System Exec.vi on this simple executable says the folowing:

This further leads me to believe that I am not using the System Exec.vi correctly, but I have been succssful in simple commands passed into the System Exec.vi such as "cmd /c dir," and I'm also still curious as to why I can call batch files with the System Exec.vi but not when the batch files contain the "rar" command. Any ideas?

Darin, I took your suggestions and after a little more fighting with it, I was able to an Error Code 2 out of the System Exec.vi. This led me back to searching the forums where I stumbled on the following:

I already do that now, but i had all my library models winrar. so i have to unpack all my files... this issue new for me, im using 3ds max more than 15 years and this is the first time facing this issue. i don't know what the problem! Is 3ds max had new protection level and how i can back to use winrar window to drag and drop.
