So I'm trying to play emulations of the PS2 JJBA games, and while on the website I'm getting them from(here and here) has them as a .7z file, when I download it it saves as a winrar archive rather than a .7z file. I have both winrar and 7zip on my computer. How do I make it save as a .7z file rather than a winrar archive? Thanks in advance. Apologies if the flair is tagged wrong, I don't know which flair this applies under.

EDIT: Should've probably put this, what I need to do is convert it into an ISO file, which wouldn't be a problem but the only way I know to convert a winrar file into an ISO file won't work since the limit of the free version(I can't pay for the full version) is 300mb, and both of the games exceed that.

phrakture: yeah tried 7zip, can't remember the "register me now" msg's but that might have been because i cracked it... I still prefferred winrar because of it's handy right click a file(s) and be able to access lots of cool unpacking options feature. Unlike with file-roller you have to open each file separately.

phrakture: yes as i recall it does, but there was 2 features 7zip didn't have that winrar did have which i wanted. I'm still talking about the right click menu on files here. Don't ask me which features this was because it was years since i last used windows and frankly i'm a freak for even remembering this i believe

I have a problem finding the correct way to unrar multiple files with the help of Winrar command.

With a button, I managed to unrar them all, but all in the same time. It's not very efficient...

The best solution is to unrar them sequentialy, but I can't find the correct winrar command to do this.

Logged on today & malwarebytes instantly popped up informing me that I had a potential threat- an item within winrar labelled as a trojan.downloader and named default.sfx. Got disposed of quickly and as it had an update, updated Malwarebytes. I've instantly ran a scan from both Malwarebytes Premium and Avast Premium and (although not finished) Malwarebytes has detected a PUP.Optional.Slimware located in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.549981C3F5F10_2.2010.22653.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe named Win32Bridge.Server.exe. I used TotalVirus online to check it and there's 0/72 for both the exe and the root folder. I didn't get a chance to scan the other one using TotalVirus as I saw the word Trojan, panicked and deleted it when it got quarantined. Is it possible they're both false positives or have I actually been infected? What do I need to do next, fresh install..or?

this popped up for me after i used winrar to unrar a log file from my own server so not sure how it is a trojan.

I did find that this has been an issue for winrar at least since 2013 when i found this post

I used winrar last night while downloading a zip and extracting it, but it didn't pop up last night, only when I started my PC today. Yeah I found that post too, better to be safe than sorry though eh?

Give me evidence of this! They might have cracked some weak encryption in web transit (perhaps where keys were intercepted), but no proof whatsoever that actual files protected by winrar, 7zip, or even entire hard-drives protected by AES 128-bit or higher encryption have EVER (yet) been cracked by bruteforce, nor is there an effective way to attack this type of encryption at this time. 2351a5e196
