This file is only for those of you who want the original (1991) version of the game (if you have DOS or Windows.) Most people DO NOT want to download this file.

This version requires codes to start the game. I can not provide these codes for you. If you don't have the codes, this version will be useless to you.

This is the ORIGINAL game Supaplex, as it was distributed on disk in 1991. For those of you who really want it (you don't need it.)

Note that this is NOT a standalone program. You need the game Supaplex for it to work!

The SpeedFix fixes bugs in the original (1991) Supaplex game and adds useful features. It was written by Herman Perk and me (adapted from the original game). The latest version fixes the joystick problem, adds a new way of naming recorded demo's, automatic attaching of signature to recorded demo's, and lots more bugfixes. See documentation (spfxi63.doc) for more information about this.

If you have a Macintosh, this is the file for you.

For help with installing this file, you are on your own, since I have no experience with Macintosh machines.

This is Infotron, very similar to Supaplex, only this program runs on a Macintosh in stead of a PC (DOS). I don't have a MAC myself, so I don't know how to use it (*.HQX files should be no problem for MAC owners). There is an alternative graphics set available too (MAC only).

Note you may need a 'slow' Mac to play it, since it seems to be running fast on fast Mac's (you can still try it though). A quote I got from a player: "I got a LC630, which is the fastest mac among the LC familly. I guess maximum mac speed is LCII or LC3 to play the infotron. LC630 uses 68040CPU and I think infotron is adequite on the 68030CPU."

It may solve graphics- and other problems you might have with the 'good old' SpeedFix version. It does not have all familiar features the SpeedFix has, but it's still very much worth checking out. Thanks to Frank Schindler! One comment: recordings which use 'bugs' (the squares with occasional lightning) may not always play back correctly in this version. WinPlex. This one tries to be compatible to Supaplex and does a reasonable job. It's not 100% compatible but should still be enjoyable. I think it requires DirectX 7, but since the website is in Russian (so is the game) I am not sure. Recommended for Windows 95 or better

If you run Windows, this is the recommended editor for you. It has loads of options like special paint tools (open or filled box, selection and copying, etc.) editing the graphics and player information, and loads more. The 'original' Supaplex level editor (VGA) v3.2. This editor uses Mode-X graphics in DOS, so there is a small chance it will not work on your machine. Should work in most Windows environments as well, but you may then be better off with a dedicated Windows editor (see above). This one was made by myself (Maarten Egmond).

De enige 100% spel-compatibele kopie is Megaplex van Frank Schindler (en uitgebreid door Paulo Matoso), gebaseerd op de laatste SpeedFix-versie van Herman Perk, echter in de beta versies zonder score-informatie, maar ook met speelvelden, die van de vaste supaplex afmetingen kunnen verschillen. In de release versie 1.0 van Paulo Matoso kan nu ook met scores gespeeld worden.

Other details: It was more like supaplex, then boulder dash, it felt kinda sci-fi with it's soundtrack and graphics. I think it had a lot of levels, some small ones, that could fit on screen, other levels were scrolling for few seconds before you got to the other side. I don't remember it having any enemies other than you blocking yourself with boulders and your crystal tail, sometimes it blocked you path, other times tunnels that were important, you were able to push boulders to the sides, but only when you were pushing one.
