Hello, and welcome to Do Stuff, Make Friends! We're a social group created for people in their late 20s and early 30s, dedicated to organizing fun and exciting events. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, try new activities, or simply have a great time, you’re in the right place.
We host a wide variety of events designed to bring people together—from casual nights out for drinks and conversations to checking out annual Winnipeg events, enjoying seasonal activities, visiting museums, and even trying archery or playing games! There’s something for everyone!
Please take a moment to read through the group rules, and feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We’re here to help and excited to meet you!
Please be respectful to all other members and organizers.
If you sign up for an event and you're unable to attend, please be sure to change your RSVP status so someone else can go. If you RSVP and no-show for 3 events in a row, you may be temporarily banned from the group.
Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or any other bigoted comments of this nature will not be tolerated.
This is not a dating group. While we understand that members may form more intimate connections with each other, the primary goal of this group is to create friendships and foster a positive social atmosphere for everyone. Unwelcome advances toward other members will not be tolerated.
Unless explicitly stated, events are strictly 18+. This group is intended for people in their 20's and 30's, and while there is some flexibility for your plus ones - most events will not be suitable for minors.
Some events may be hosted at places that serve alcohol. While we don’t mind attendees having a drink or two, excessive alcohol consumption or rowdy behavior will not be tolerated - especially if said behavior poses a danger to oneself or others.
Breaking any of the stated rules may result in either a temporary or permanent ban.
Our main goal is to create an atmosphere where all members feel included and welcome. Any behavior that impedes this goal will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
I’m new to Meetup – how can I make the most out of my experience?
Welcome! To get the most out of your Meetup experience, make sure to RSVP for events that interest you, or join the waitlist if the event is full.
The goal is to meet new people, so don’t be shy—approach others, introduce yourself, and jump into conversations that interest you.
Feel free to bring a guest if it helps you feel more comfortable—most events allow at least one guest. For events that don’t, encourage your friend to RSVP with their own Meetup account.

There’s an event I want to go to, but the event is full. What can I do?
Don’t worry! If you’re interested in an event that’s already at capacity, we recommend RSVPing and joining the waitlist.
Often, spots open up as people drop out closer to the event date. Additionally, we sometimes increase event capacities, so joining the waitlist ensures you’ll be considered for any available spots.
How can I keep up to date on new events?
To stay in the loop, be sure to subscribe to event notifications on Meetup. You can customize your preferences to get updates via the Meetup app or email.
We also send out a monthly newsletter with links to upcoming events.
Additionally, we have an Instagram account where we post advance notices of events. Ask for the account details at your next meetup, and we’ll gladly accept your follow request!
