Should I TerraCycle an item if it can be recycled through our municipal program? You should not. It is always most cost-effective to use our existing city services. At times, you’ll find a TerraCycle item that can be ‘regularly’ recycled, like some health and beauty items/bottles.
Sometimes I’m not sure if an item can be recycled, where can I find out? The City of Monona recycles with Advanced Disposal Services . A list of recyclable items can be found on their website. In addition, the City of Madison maintains a RECYCLOPEDIA, which is a comprehensive list of hundreds of items, with instructions for recycling or disposal.
