Wireless Innovation Lab (WINLAB), led by Professor Hong-Bae Jeon, is with the Department of Information Communications Engineering at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS). WINLAB specializes in designing and developing algorithmic and practical solutions for 6G wireless communications, emphasizing comprehensive performance analysis and validation through mathematical methods, machine learning, and hardware and software approaches.
Research at WINLAB has focused on the key emerging technologies for 6G, including (but not limited to):
Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS): Optimization and signal processing
Fluid/Movable antenna systems (FAS) and its applications
AI/ML for 6G
This integrated approach has demonstrated significant performance enhancements, positioning WINLAB at the forefront of 6G innovation.
[Sep. 2025] The article "FAS-ARIS for 6G: Analytical Framework and Performance Optimization" has been accepted in Proc. IEEE Globecom 2025.
[Aug. 2025] The article "Graph-Theoretic Approach to Mobility-Aware Frequency Assignment via Deep Q-Learning" has been accepted in Frontiers in Communications and Networks - invited.
[Mar. 2025] Hong-Bae joined Information Communications Engineering, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) as an Assistant Professor.
