DELETE YOUR WINGMAIL ACCOUNT
Last updated: 27 August 2026
This page explains how to delete your Wingmail account, what is removed, and
what cannot be removed. It is written to be accurate rather than reassuring:
one or two things genuinely cannot be taken back, and you should know which
before you ask.
HOW TO REQUEST DELETION
Send an email to kumarvikas06182@gmail.com with:
- the subject line "Delete my Wingmail account", and
- your mark (your @username in the app).
Please send it from the Google account you signed in with. That is how the
request is verified — an account is not deleted on the word of somebody who
cannot prove it is theirs.
You will receive a confirmation when it is done. Requests are actioned within
30 days, and normally much sooner.
WHAT IS DELETED
- Your profile — display name, profile picture link, and the place your
letters were flown to, including its coordinates.
- Your book — the private list of people you had kept.
- Your connections — the record of who you were writing with.
- Letters you sent that have not yet been delivered — these are removed along
with their contents.
- Your sign-in — the Google account link held by Firebase Authentication,
including your email address.
- Anything cached on your own device is removed when you sign out or
uninstall the app.
WHAT CANNOT BE DELETED, AND WHY
Please read this section before you ask.
Letters already delivered to someone else
A letter that has already reached its recipient is their post. It stays in
their Messages, and its words remain readable to them. Wingmail does not
reach into another person's correspondence and remove what they were sent,
any more than a postal service could take back a letter already read.
The letter will no longer show your profile or picture — only the name it was
sent under at the time.
If you need a specific delivered letter removed, the recipient can be asked
directly; failing that, write to the address above and explain the
circumstances, and it will be considered case by case.
Your mark
Your mark is retired, not released. It is not deleted and is never given to
anybody else.
This is deliberate. QR codes and links pointing at your mark may exist on
other people's phones, in chats, or printed. If the mark were freed for
reuse, a stranger could take it and receive letters intended for you.
Retiring it makes that impossible.
If you sign up again later you will need to choose a new mark.
DELETING THE APP ONLY
Uninstalling Wingmail removes the app and everything cached on your phone,
but it does not delete your account or the data stored on the server. To
delete the account, send the email described above.
