What is WINDSURFER doing?
WINDSURFER will be undertaking new research and developing new data and products to support the Insurance, Forestry and Energy sectors.
- New methods and tools: New databases of extreme waves in the North Sea, European Atlantic coastline and the Mediterranean. Assessments of present and future European windstorm in new climate model simulations
- Impacts studies: WINDSURFER will develop new tools to asses the damage and loss from extremes winds and waves on Forestry and Insurance
- Localised climate information: New methods to assess localised extreme wind gusts in Forests
As a publicly funded research project, all research outputs from WINDSURFER will be made freely available
WINDSURFER is funded through the ERA4CS ERA-NET and the European Commission
