I was educated at Cambridge University, The Royal College of Music and The National Centre for Orchestra Studies. I worked in London as a freelance musician and teacher, playing for the Rambert Dance Company, Music Projects London and the English Wind Ensemble. Teaching engagements included St Paul's Cathedral Choir School, St Paul's Girls Schools and Twickenham College. My musical career was cut short by repetitive strain injury and I retrained as an academic, gaining my PhD in information systems and working at the Manchester Metropolitan University in England, and Aalborg University in Denmark before becoming professor of information systems at the University of Skövde in Sweden. I published over one hundred scientific articles. I retired from academic life in 2020 to pursue my musical interests.
