We are Winds of the Moon - A storytelling collective sharing the joy of story with the world.
We devise and deliver story-circles, performances, and workshops in schools, community centres and stages that inspire reflection and connection through creative expression. Collectively we have 20 years of experience offering transformative spaces for people of a diverse range of ages and backgrounds.
We know that story is a powerful way to forge connection and grow community and that is why we gather people together to share stories, play and sing.
Our storytelling and creativity sessions offer something rare - a chance to connect more deeply than everyday life usually allows. These sessions create a space where we feel truly heard, where our connection to ourselves and to one another can quietly deepen. We employ trust-building games and exercises, embodiment practises, and games to cultivate silliness and improvisation. Along the way, there's confidence to be found, self-esteem to be built, and - almost always - a good deal of laughter. We can also support groups in devising original material and developing their own stories for performance.
At the heart of these sessions is a simple intention: to cultivate connection, nurture the spirit, and have a genuinely good time. And since everyone loves a story, they tend to go down rather well.
“You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation.” - Plato
When we tap into our potential for self-expression and overcome our fears of being seen and judged, we make space for exuberance and joy. Many people do not realise the level of creativity they have waiting to be unleashed under the right conditions.
Play is fundamental for wellbeing, something we encourage whenever possible. Adults who come to our workshop say they have lost the art of playing. They cherish opportunities to relax their guard and be silly in our relaxed, welcoming sessions.
We love engaging with tiny ones and lighting up young minds. Our traditional and original stories are geared to have children in rapt attention whilst also royally entertaining the adults in tow.
We love working in beautiful spaces where it is possible to really drop in to the surroundings. Trust-building exercises like this 'blind' leading game sharpen our senses and bring us more in touch with ourselves.
We love using performance and creative play as a tool to explore different shades of life's rich tapestry. Hannah has worked extensively using techniques from the Theatre of the Oppressed to work creatively in transforming personal and collective challenges into beauty.
Our events are carefully tailoured to create welcoming spaces in which people can participate in whatever way feels most comfortable for them.
If you are a dreamer, come in
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer...
If you're a pretender, come sit by the fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in!
Come in!
- The Invitation, Shel Silverstein
We love working in schools and libraries, and in the dappled shade under trees. You can find us at festivals, around fires and on stages.
The Selkie Who Stayed
Hannah is touring her new storytelling show The Selkie Who Stayed, which explores loss of self and identity in domesticity and parenthood. The tour includes daytime performances for parents, coupled with discussions on the themes involved.
A selkie woman comes ashore to dance under moonlight and finds herself caught in the arms of a sailor. Captivated by love, she chooses to stay, surrendering her bond with the ocean for the promise of family life.
Suki & the Silver Lining
Mica has created this new show which she will perform around Devon this summer.
You are invited into a storytelling experience with live music, songs, laughter, beauty, and shared moments that can only happen once.
Musical storyteller Mica Sinclair will take us on a journey, while Devon-based musicians Ric (violin) and Bambi (harp) improvise alongside the unfolding story, creating a spontaneous tapestry of sound.
We can’t wait to welcome you into this living creation with us.
Stories & Stars storytelling club
A monthly event offering a treasure-trove of stories around an open fire, at the Snapdragons CIC community space in Plymouth.
Feast your ears on tales both old and new. Hannah’s stories inhabit the space between mythic realms and mundane modern life, so expect reluctant moles, dancing rivers and sharp-witted crones. She peppers her tales with insights from the natural world, and always tells with a healthy dose of humour.
Harmony and the Heart Keepers
The Cloud Kingdom has fallen under a dark spell. Harmony has vanished, and with the Heart Keepers fading fast, there’s little goodness left to protect our worlds. Solar storms from earth are effecting the whole of the galaxy, threatening all that is sacred in the universe.
Will it be too late to find the heart keepers and restore harmony throughout the galaxy?
Through music, movement, games, story, and song, we will restore harmony, spreading love across the galaxies. Arts Council funded.
Why is the sky so far away?
A storytelling workshop at Bristol Steiner School using movement, theatre, music and writing to explore our relationship to the earth and our roles as custodians for its wellbeing.
I am a musical storyteller and Master Neuro Linguistic Programmer. (NLP). I've worked with children, young people and adults for the last 10 years working with drama, story, music and movement to deliver workshops, performances and courses that inspire, empower and support us to find new ways of relating with the world. I aim to bring playfulness as a balm for the heart, combining my love of life, music, and story to create spaces that build confidence and cultivate curiosity. I have been a performer for over 7 years, gigging all over the country at festivals, theatres, around the fireside and community centers. I love wild, mythic tales from around the world, from cultures that still maintain a deep connection with the land.
I am a storyteller, healer and group leader with ten years of experience creating transformative spaces for people of all ages and backgrounds. As an associate artist with Doorstep Arts and Bigfoot Arts Education, and Creative Co-Director of the charity Reboot the Roots, I have facilitated Theatre-in-Education and Theatre of the Oppressed workshops across Europe and in UK schools — supporting communities to explore personal and collective change through creative expression. I came to storytelling four years ago and have been immersed ever since - using story to weave bridges between the oft mundane world we inhabit and the magical realms just beyond our fingertips. Story is incredibly powerful as a connective force and builder of empathy. I love to bring people in touch with the raw and beautiful edges of human experience through performance; to spark fierce passion and showcase topics often left off the table.
