Im trying to connect the MOD DUO to the PC for the first time (Windows 10 pro 64bit).
The OS seems to recognize the device but no drive is mounted and I cant connect to the device using google chrome.
Tried the troubleshooting guide at the wiki with no success.
Need help!
I have tried following the troubleshooting steps but the MOD DUO is showing up in my system as a printer and not as a Network adapter therefore no option with the correct driver is shown to me.device_manager.JPG465618 46.3 KB

Ive connected the MOD to a really old HP Mini netbook running windows 7 starter edition and was able to follow the instructions on the wiki for the windows 10 32bit.
I downloaded the zip file and installed the driver.
On that system the MOD first appeared as an unknown device anfd after updating the driver it appeared as network device. I successfully connected to the web browser interface and updated the MOD firmware.
The only problem is that the HP Mni is not my computer.
I will try other systems running windows 10 64bit if I have a chance and let you know of the results.
In the mean time Ill start learning how to use the MOD while waiting for a solution to this windows 10 64bit issue.
The device shows up as a Network Adapter under the Device Manager. One thing you might want to be sure is that you have the correct USB drivers installed for your computer. Make sure you go to your laptop company website and download the latest drivers and firmwares, specially a USB driver if any is available.
@rogeriocouto do you have an android phone? if yes, can you try enabling USB tethering please? (should be under extra network options).
The driver that windows uses for android phones usb-networking is the same that MOD needs.
So perhaps this way we can know if your windows install includes the driver or not.
The Remote Network Driver Interface Specification (RNDIS) is a Microsoft proprietary protocol used mostly on top of USB.[1] It provides a virtual Ethernet link to most versions of the Windows, Linux, and FreeBSD operating systems. The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) defines at least three non-proprietary USB communications device class (USB CDC) protocols with comparable "virtual Ethernet" functionality; one of them (CDC-ECM) predates RNDIS and is widely used for interoperability with non-Microsoft operating systems, but does not work with Windows.
Most versions of Android include RNDIS USB functionality. For example, Samsung smartphones have the capability and use RNDIS over USB to operate as a virtual Ethernet card that will connect the host PC to the mobile or Wi-Fi network in use by the phone, effectively working as a mobile broadband modem or a wireless card, for mobile hotspot tethering.[7]
In 2022 it was suggested that support for RNDIS should be removed from Linux, claiming that is inherently and uncorrectably insecure in the presence of untrusted USB devices.[8] Although the claims said that Android have removed RNDIS "for years", most if not all Android devices released before 2024, with the exception of Google Pixel 6 and newer, are still using RNDIS in order to keep the driver-free experience with older systems such as Windows 7.[9][10]
I have been struggling to get high speed over RNDIS connection on any linux based systems. I used to get good speed with openwrt (CDC-Ether driver) setup but its now also plagued by same issue. At this point, I am not sure if its an issue with this Hotspot Model (MR5100) or something changed with linux kernel within different distros. For example: Ubuntu used to give good speed of around 800mbps but now gives 70mbps max download while connecting the same hotspot to a windows machine gives around 1.2gbps speed.
This wired issue is puzzling me for long time. I also do own the MR1100 Model and putting the same SIM card into it equally gives good speed on both linux and Windows machines. I feel that the MR5100 is somehow detecting where its connected to and slows down the USB tethering speed. Another issue is slow IP Passthrough speed using MR5100 in any mode (USB or Ethernet port) but MR1100 has no issues.

I would expect it to be easier to set up the connection on the host, and to then share that interface with the guest. The downside is that the host would also have access to the connection.
Continuing on trying to connect the guest to the phone directly: Is your device showing up in the windows device manager at all (even as an unrecognised device)?
Not running 32bit Windows? Not getting the driver install dialogue after switching on tethering on the phone? Try the microsoft Remote NDIS INF template for NDIS 5.1 (the top one) just to be sure. Make sure to add the device data as done for the tetherxp.inf instructions you linked to: The ID should be 0bb4:2008 or 0bb4:0c02 (depending on whether USB debugging is set to off or on in your phone), if it is one of those I suggest duplicating all lines that contain USB\VID_xxxx&PID_yyyy and changing this part in one of the lines to USB\VID_0bb4&PID_2008 and in the other to USB\VID_0bb4&PID_0c02. Save the file as a .inf file, right click the file and choose install, or go via the device manager.
The only problem is, that the network adapter remote NDIS based Device shows up only, when USB Debugging is on.
When I switch debugging off and tethering on, the hardware manager shows a new piece of unknown hardware: Mt65xx Android Phone Driver. So I downloaded the MTK USB driver as linked by google on Android Developers.
Once again I had to edit the .inf, in this case android_winusb.inf. I added the following line (4 of 5)
I am Getting 500mbps+ using the phone directly and 275mbps+ while using it with computer via usb2.0 Tethering.But When i connect my phone to my linksys router via USB Tethering i get only 3-4 Mbps only.

i tested on Tplink Mr 3220 & Tplink Mr 3420 both OpenWrt Installed. i couldn't get more than 5mbps download speed.so i feel its phone usb driver issue or i am missing something while configuration openwrt router?
because same phone give 300mbps+ on windows 7 OS
Sounds like your provider is detecting the use of a router as the tethered device and throttling the bandwidth, apparently quite a common practice. You might be able to use TTL adjustment to work around this (e.g. Working Nftables Rule for TTL in 22.03) but be aware that the terms & conditions of your plan might give your provider the right to terminate service for doing so.
RNDIS was expected for the PC. If you followed the guide, there are some suggestions for some protocols mainly used over Android USB dongles. For some reason the phone may go to some poorly implemented protocol, rather RNDIS. If the Iperf test passes over the USB and the phone is rooted you may do a packet capture with tcpdump too see if there is any difference which your provider can detect and use to throttle-down the connection.

This seems complicated for me , i installed iperf2. there is only command prompt and in command help there nothing mentioned about USB test.Also phone is new not rooted.if i root the phone it ll break the warranty conditions..so i want to sure first its phone issue or some limitations by openwrt and its difficult for me to capture tcp dump because i am not that smart to do such task ......
When shared directly to the PC, I doubt it won't decrement the TTL, so if the PC sources it with 64 it will go as 63 over the mobile network. Anyway, you can add a wireless client to the router's WAN and connect it wirelessly and test if the speed is reduced the same way when having the router.
